The planning application for the second community centre at Great Western Park was submitted to the Vale of White Horse council at the end of March 2017. The building will be located in the heart of GWP, in the District Neighbourhood. The proposed community centre is a key building in helping form the character of the GWP district centre. It will be located just off of the square within close proximity to the supermarket, retail units and public house (see Masterplan for detailed location).

Mi-space UK will be designing and building the centre and ownership of the building will be passed to the district council upon completion.

The proposed facilities will include large multi functional spaces, several meeting rooms, kitchen facilities, and a community garden/seating area. There are also plans for the building to house a crèche facility, a café and a local police office. This fantastic new facility will undoubtedly help enhance the great sense of community at GWP and in the wider Didcot area.

If you want further information on the proposal then please keep an eye on the Vale of While Horse planning portal, as the application and supporting drawings should be available to download at some point in the near future.

Please note that these proposals are subject to change.
