Taylor Wimpey and the GWP Consortium have opened an additional area of the Leisure Route for public use during the Covid-19 Lockdown. Our hope is that this provides some additional space for local residents to enjoy their one form of exercise a day during what continues to be a testing time for all of us.

The space runs to the west of the Aureus Secondary school and UTC and can be accessed from either Pennyroyal Place or Wantage Road.

The Leisure Route does still need to be formally signed off by the District Council. This will progress again once normality begins to resume and subsequently, the space will be opened up for permanent use. We therefore ask that you take good care of the leisure route whilst it is open to you so that this process can be completed at the earliest opportunity. Please ensure that litter and other waste is disposed of appropriately in the bins at either end of route.

All other areas of the development that are currently fenced off need to remain fenced off to protect the health and safety of the public. The works in these areas are not fully complete yet and we are unable to do partial opening of them. Please do not seek to enter these areas for your own safety.

Please continue to follow the guidelines provided by the government when using the public spaces across the GWP development. Take care of yourselves, your family and friends and the wonderful individuals on the front line in the NHS by staying home and staying safe. We look forward to getting back to normal with you soon.
